Take care of your skin
Getting your skin into tip top condition is super important and it’s worth getting into a really good routine three to six months ahead of your wedding. If you have any specific skin concerns, now is the time to seek advice from a skincare professional who can advise and prescribe the best products for you and yes we know it’s been said a million times before but drink water, lots of it.
Wedding Makeup Trial
Ideally you want to do this around a month before your wedding. Top tip – if you’re planning on fake tanning for your wedding make sure you fake tan before your trial with the same product so your make-up artist can get the right colour-match.
To SPF or not to SPF
So this is a debatable one. Many make-up artists recommend bending the rules on your big day and going without an SPF as the flash in your photography can bounce off the skin making you look washed out. But if you’re having an outdoor wedding in the middle of summer you’re going to want to feel protected so pop a sunscreen underneath your foundation and get a few test shots done ahead of your big day.
Give yourself plenty of time for wedding makeup
You don’t want to feel rushed so make sure you allow at least 45 mins for your makeup and longer if you’re having individual or strip lashes applied on the day.
Keep a few key products on-hand
