• How Many Wedding Cakes have you Made?

If your wedding cake supplier has been in the business for a long time, this usually means they have more experience and know how to get around unexpected challenges. Ask them how many wedding cakes they have made to date and if they can show you any examples of their work. This will also give you a sense of their cake design style and whether it will fit your overall theme.  

 

• Did you Design and Create all the Wedding Cakes in your Portfolio?

When you’re on the hunt for the right wedding cake supplier, you will begin to browse numerous websites showcasing stylish and beautiful cakes, so it’s important to clarify whether these images are legit. Make sure to ask each supplier whether they have created all the cakes that are showcased in their imagery, or whether these are just example shots of cakes they are willing to create. 

 

• What are the Size Options?

Wedding cake suppliers should be able to direct you with size options based on the number of guests. Make sure to ask how many portions you get from each size so you can have the option to use the cake as dessert at the wedding reception as well as for favours for guests.

 

• Do you Offer a Cake Tasting?

One of the most exciting tasks when it comes to wedding planning is the cake tasting! Most cake suppliers will be able to offer you a cake tasting appointment so make sure to get one in the diary way in advance of your wedding date. 

 

• What are your Flavours, and can I Mix and Match?

It’s important to not assume that your wedding cake supplier can cater to all. Many cake makers provide a limited number of flavours, so make sure to ask about these before you make your booking to avoid disappointment. It’s also important to ask whether you can mix and match flavours as some cake suppliers don’t provide this as a service.
