As we delve into the months with freezing temperatures and non-stop rain, it’s important to be prepared for the worst weather conditions. To help ensure the weather doesn’t spoil your big day, the Wedding Team at Delamere Manor have pulled together a list of ways for you to weatherproof your wedding…
-
Make alternative arrangements
We’re all for outdoor ceremonies, but having an alternative location for your celebrations is essential if you’re opting for a wedding in the colder months. When you visit a venue, make sure you ask to see an indoor room to see if you’d be happy use it. It’s important to ask your suppliers to see the room too to see if all decorations and essentials can be moved from an outdoor space to an indoor location.
-
Provide a Brolly Bucket
Not only are umbrellas great for keeping you and your guests dry, but they will make a great keepsake too! Make sure you put in an order for them to arrive before your big day so you have them to hand for the rehearsals and any pre-family celebrations too.
-
Make sure you have wedding insurance
This may sound a little extreme, but here in the UK we are not strangers to the odd storm throughout the winter months, so it’s worth making sure you have event insurance to help protect you against financial loss. You may also wish to make sure you have a policy which covers you if you are unable to attend your wedding due to flight cancellations or road closures.
-
Prepare with your suppliers
From your photographer to your make-up artist, make sure each supplier has a Plan B for your big day and test drive every new concept to make sure you’re prepared for worst case scenarios.
-
Provide alternative footwear
Although wellington boots may not be your first shoe of choice for your big day, if rain is inevitable, have a little fun with your outfit choices and provide matching footwear for the wedding party! Not only will they keep their feet dry from the rain, but they’ll make fun and unique photos for the wedding album too.
