It’s the most wonderful time of the year here at Delamere Manor!
For brides and grooms who are having their own winter wedding this December it couldn’t be better, and with so many bookings, weddings to organise for the New Year, and parties to attend to, it’s no wonder we’re snowed under at the end of another fabulous year!
But, if you dream of being in your own winter wonderland, then here are a few winter wedding inspirations and festive ideas to bring the magic of Christmas to your wedding.
Festive Décor
Of course, a white colour scheme is an obvious choice – white candles, fairy lights, tablecloths and so forth. But, if you want to go for something less traditional, inject a touch of colour with hues of burgundy, reds, metallic golds, silvers and greens.
Create a rustic and all-natural setting with blooming cherry trees, green foliage like holly leaves, berries, mistletoe (for an extra couple of kisses), and florals such as heather, poinsettia, and camellia to be placed on tables or as part of the bouquet.
As an added extra for centrepieces, mini ice sculptures will make any room look visually spectacular, whilst using personalised baubles on the table for guest seating is just one way to get people in the Christmas spirit.
Dress to Impress
The winter weather can bring the chill factor to your wedding, especially with regards on what to wear.
However, where one door closes another one opens! Long sleeved wedding dresses will ensure your arms feel warm and keep you looking glamorous.
Layers are on trend this season, with many brides wearing faux fur shawls or blazers to suit your style. Grooms have the option to wear a stylish jumper instead of a waistcoat under their jacket with a scarf to match.
If your winter wedding is taking place outside, and your heels or oxford shoes become troublesome in the rough terrain, boots will be your saving grace.
Wintry entertainment, favours, and activities
December is the best month for entertainment and things to do, and your wedding should be no exception!
Fireworks and sparklers are a great way to brighten up the evening’s festivities, where carol singers can merrily sing your favourite songs.
Get cosy with a sweet treat by toasting marshmallows by an open fire, hire acrobatic circus performers to wow the crowds. Or, if snow falls your way, it will be lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with all your friends and family to enjoy!
To top it off, take the role of Santa and hand out wedding favours in stockings filled with candy canes, chocolate mints, potpourri and mini crackers!
Food for the Soul
Cuisine that will warm the taste buds of your heart is guaranteed to be a hit with everyone!
From a traditional roast, curries and hot pots, to a mulled wine or hot chocolate station – the holiday season is all about food and drink that’s both tasty and filling.
