Every couple will remember their wedding day for the rest of their lives, but even more so when their favourite singer makes an appearance! From Pixie Lott to Ed Sheeran, there are many celebs who are willing to make someone’s special day even more special by performing on their wedding day. Here’s a round-up of our top five celebs who have made an appearance at a fan’s wedding…
1. Gary Barlow
The former owner of our very own Delamere Manor, Gary Barlow, made an appearance at several weddings in 2015, and it was by no accident! The popular singer reached out to his fans on Twitter at the start of the year, claiming he planned to sing at three weddings but ended up exceeding his goal with a final appearance in Oxfordshire. As his final tweet on his wedding antics, Gary tweeted “I’ll look back fondly at 2015 as the year of the wedding crasher!”.
2. Pixie Lott
In 2017, singer Pixie Lott surprised a bride and groom with a performance of an acoustic version of popular Kings of Leon hit, Use Somebody, before heading off to headline a gig in Manchester. The star was reportedly heading to turn on the Christmas lights at Manchester Town Hall when she was spotted by a wedding guest and asked to perform.
3. Craig David
In 2016, superfan, Sophie McEvoy, made it her daily mission to tweet singer Craig David hoping he would perform on her special day, and in 2017- her wish became a reality! The 7 Days singer tweeted Sophie two weeks before her wedding date, saying “I’m so happy that you’re getting married & I can be part of this special occasion!”. The David obsessive married her partner in Tenerife and later confirmed the singer had stayed true to his word.
4. Ed Sheeran
To make a happy couple’s day extra special, global star, Ed Sheeran, crashed their wedding to sing their first dance song! The stunt was set up by an Australian radio show whilst Ed was touring Australia and New Zealand and whilst the couple were thrilled and understandably thanked Ed for his appearance, the Thinking Out Loud singer responded asking the couple to “make lots of babies tonight”.
5. Taylor Swift
After receiving an open letter from the sister of the groom, pop star, Taylor Swift, accepted an invitation to a fan’s wedding and performed an acoustic version of popular hit, Blank Space. The singer made the appearance for free, and even brought along a personalised painting as a wedding gift for the bride and groom.
