Walking back down the aisle as newlyweds is a jubilant moment and while many couples tend to put a big focus on the entrance music when planning their big day, you’ll also need to consider the song you and your partner want to exit to.
Something celebratory and upbeat is most popular but you may want something a little gentler depending on you and your partner’s music tastes. If that’s the case, one great option to explore is a string quartet. They can play a classical song for your entrance then flip the tempo for your exit putting a classic twist on something more modern. At Delamere Manor we’ve heard some great classical renditions of some of our favourite songs including Greatest Day by Take That, Elbow’s One Day Like This and Marry You by Bruno Mars.
Another thing to consider is that depending on the size of your wedding it may take a little while for everyone to congregate afterwards so you may want to plan a couple of songs for your exit!
To help celebrate your new status as newlyweds here are The Wedding Team at Delamere Manor’s favourite songs to start married life.
Wedding March (from A Midsummer Night’s Dream) – Felix Mendelssohn
This is the classic recessional song and with its grand organ, it definitely offers a dramatic exit!
Signed Sealed Delivered I’m Yours – Stevie Wonder
It’s a popular choice and a real classic but we love it!
You Are the Best Thing – Ray LaMontagne
Prepare to melt your guests with Ray’s raspy tone and beautiful lyrics.
Sky Full of Stars – Coldplay
If you’re looking for an upbeat alternative with a dance vibe but don’t want to compromise on romantic lyrics this is a great choice,
Crazy in Love – Beyonce & Jay-Z
Involve Queen Bey in proceedings and you’re sure to have everyone dancing down the aisle!
