A Decade of Love at Delamere Manor
Here at Delamere Manor, we are delighted to be celebrating our 10th anniversary since opening our doors as a premier wedding and events venue, welcoming couples from far and wide to celebrate the happiest day of their lives.
We can’t quite believe how quickly the time has gone – time flies when you’re celebrating love! To mark this special milestone, we asked the people that know the Manor best (our wonderful team) to share their favourite moments from the past ten years.
Celebrities at the Manor
We have had our fair share of famous faces share their vows here at Delamere Manor. Helen Scott MBE, Eastender’s Jacqueline Jossa and Adam Thomas all held their nuptials here. For Michelle, owner of Delamere Manor, the most memorable was ITV’s Samia Longchambon. She said: “It was surreal seeing all our favourite characters in one place. It was just like being in an episode of Coronation Street! The bride and groom were gorgeous to work with too.”
Furry friends
It’s not just celebrities that have swept through Cheshire’s most idyllic wedding venue. We have also welcomed plenty of animals who are always a firm favourite with guests and Delamere Manor’s team alike. From an owl ring bearer, to a stuck duckling that needed rescuing moments before the ceremony, to llamas, dogs, horses and even Santa’s reindeer too.
Surprise!
At Delamere Manor, we love it when our couples (or their guests) find ways to surprise us. Michelle said: “The first dance is always a special time, but I absolutely love choreographed first dances. When a couple has planned and rehearsed a routine, it adds such personality to their wedding day.”
Our bar manager, Rachel, was once given a special task by the bride’s parents: “The bride and groom had been to Disneyland a number of times, and their parents wanted to surprise them. They asked us if we would mind dressing up as Minnie and Mickey Mouse (our answer was a resounding yes, of course!). We gave them gifts, danced with the guests and posed for photos. It was such fun – although the costumes were boiling hot!”
Rachel also remembers another surprising guest at a wedding: “One of our couples arrived in Delboy’s car from Only Fools and Horses, which was a fantastic surprise. Delboy himself also made an appearance!”
Going the extra mile
Always looking for ways to make our couples feel as comfortable and welcomed as possible, Rachel even learned a whole new language. She said: “I learnt to write Cantonese! We had one wedding where the majority of their guests were travelling from Hong Kong and didn’t speak English. I wanted to make sure they felt welcome at the Manor, so I learnt how to write drink names so they could understand.”
We could not be more grateful to all the couples, guests, suppliers, and our wonderful team who have been part of the journey over the last ten years. We are so excited for the next decade of creating unforgettable memories.
Whether you have visited as a guest or as a bride or groom, we would love to hear your favourite memories at Delamere Manor.
