• Natural Photography

Typically described as documentary, the new year calls for a new photography style! Say ‘goodbye’ to well-presented and thought-out poses and wave ‘hello’ to capturing natural and real moments. Couples are becoming less precious about perfect wedding photography and prefer to leave their photographers with little direction throughout the day. Think natural lighting and blur-motion photography to be on-trend for 2023. 

• Disposable Cameras

On the topic of photography, disposable cameras are making a big comeback in the wedding industry and are expected to be hugely popular for 2023. Consider including these in your wedding reception and allow your guests to capture each wedding moment from their seats. 

• Born in the 80s 

Due to pop culture and fashion trends coming back into light from Netflix series such as Stranger Things and The Crown, it’s no surprise that the 80s fashion trends are making their way into the wedding class of 2023! From voluminous sleeves to textured, ruffle skirts, expect to see dramatic bridal looks in the new year. 

• Wedding Dress Rentals 

As sustainability became one of the biggest trends of 2022, brides are expected to go one step further in 2023 with rented bridalwear. Searches for ‘wedding dress hire’ are believed to have gone up by 132%, meaning brides can find the perfect fit without worrying if they will ever wear the dress again. 

• Petite Bouquets

Be prepared to downsize your wedding bouquet because petite arrangements are officially in! Small, vintage-inspired bouquets filled with petite blooms such as forget-me-nots and baby’s breath are set to take centre stage over the usual big floral arrangements. 

• Small Guestlists 

With the pandemic seeing so many weddings be limited on attendance, many couples have now started to see the benefits of a smaller celebration. Though the circumstances have now changed, many are choosing to spoil those they really care about with a small, special celebration, rather than opting for a grand affair in front of people they didn’t necessarily stay in touch with during Covid-19- expect small wedding numbers if you manage to get on the list!
