If you’re in the midst of planning your wedding, you likely already know how many details require your attention – from the floral arrangements to the setlist, to the favours and cake.

Choose your wedding team
Booking your wedding suppliers can seem like a daunting task. Where to start?! However, this is the team of people who will pull together their experience and passion to deliver you the day of your dreams, so it’s important to get it right. At Delamere Manor, we have compiled a list of our preferred suppliers. These are the businesses we have worked with time and time again and we know that they do it well so you don’t have to worry about trusting a stranger on a Google review, you can put your faith in us.
Plan your wedding bag
On your wedding day you will undoubtedly need some bits and bobs – plasters for sore feet, lipstick, phone, replacement hair grips, an emergency sewing kit. It’s not particularly stylish or practical for a bride or groom to carry a bag of supplies with them all day, so have a chat with our team about a good place to stash a secret bag to save you running up to your bedroom to fix your hair.
Think about your Plan B
Planning a spring or summer wedding? Then you will undoubtedly have thought about whether you would prefer an indoor or an outdoor ceremony. Thanks to the Great British weather, outdoor weddings carry with them a little bit of risk and so getting a Plan B in place is a good idea. At Delamere Manor, our beautiful courtyard has a retractable roof, meaning that you can hold your nuptials al fresco if the weather is on our side, but if the weather isn’t looking certain then you can choose to have the roof with as little as two hours’ notice. This means your Plan B doesn’t need to involve changing your ceremony location.
The final touches
At Delamere Manor, our wedding team is on hand to help you remember the little details you might not think about to make sure you and your guests are happy and comfortable all day long. If it’s warm, how about transforming your ‘Order of the Day’ into a handheld fan that your guests can use to cool themselves. If it’s chilly, we can dot baskets of blankets around to keep anyone who wants to venture outside cosy.
Plan those all-important angles
Before your wedding day, book a meeting with your photographer to have one more walk-around the Manor to make sure you all know the best spots for the photos that will live in photo frames around your house forever! This doubles up as a great opportunity for you to get better acquainted with your photographer to help them feel more of a friend than a stranger on the day itself.
Hydration, hydration, hydration
A small but very important tip. Your wedding day will pass by in a blur (trust us!), and it’s so easy to forget to do basic things like popping to the loo or keeping yourself hydrated. The Delamere team will look after you, of course, but designate one member of your bridal party to be ‘Chief of Hydration’ and to bring you glasses of water throughout the day.
Pack backups
Once you have both found the perfect pair of shoes for your special day, remember to give yourself a few weeks to properly break them in. No-one wants blisters on their wedding day, so wear a pair of comfy socks and get used to feeling fancy while washing the dishes! It’s a good idea to pop a pair of backup shoes in your wedding bag too. Hopefully you won’t need them but if you do, you’ll be glad you did!
Write each other a letter
Your wedding morning is an incredibly special time and what better way to start the day before the hustle and bustle begins than by reading a letter written by the love of your life? A little keepsake to help you remember the very start of your big day.
Carve out time for you
Have you ever been to a wedding where you barely see the happy couple together? It’s easy to let the day pass in a chaotic blur of talking to guests and partying, so when you’re finalising the itinerary for your wedding day, don’t forget one crucial element: carve out ten minutes for just you two to spend some time together alone. Have a walk around the grounds or find a private nook and soak up this time together. We’ll be on hand to make sure no-one disturbs you!
