With lockdown restrictions still in place, our Netflix subscriptions are proving invaluable, but there’s no reason why you can’t combine a bit of wedding planning with some quality time on the sofa with your other half. 1. Bridgerton – The Duke & Duchess of Hastings
It’s the Netflix Original series everyone is talking about and the wedding scenes definitely don’t disappoint! A bridal tiara from the Swarovski vaults, a 1.5 metre-tall cake, a wedding feast of langoustines and pineapples and hand-painted silk blooms, need we say more!
2. About Time – Tim & Mary
We love Richard Curtis’ romantic comedy drama starring Bill Nighy and Rachel McAdams. While red might not be every bride’s dress of choice, McAdams rocks it and despite everyone getting a good soaking at her outdoor wedding, love and laughter prevail! Here at Delamere Manor our courtyard’s retractable roof means we’ve got you and your guests covered for whatever the great British weather throws at us!
3. Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 1 – Edward & Bella
Twilight fan or not, this is the epitome of a stunning Midsummer Night’s Dream style wedding and worth a watch if only to see Bella’s iconic Caroline Herrera wedding dress.
4. Pride and Prejudice – the Bingleys and the Darcys
The six-part 1995 adaption of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice starring Colin Firth (and that infamous lake scene) gives us a double wedding! And while you might not fancy a full-on Regency era theme, at Delamere Manor we can definitely help channel romantic novel vibes with our Manor house, beautiful grounds and did we mention the private lake?
5. Crazy Rich Asians – Colin & Araminta
You’ll need to wait a couple of days for this one – it’s available from Monday (22 March) – but if you want to see what a wedding which is meant to look like it has cost $40 million – this is the film to watch! The story pivots around the opulent world of Singapore’s elite and their wedding of the year and while we don’t want to give too much away the botanical garden theme is stunning as is the bride’s Mary Vogt jumpsuit and as for the bride’s entrance, we’ll leave that as a surprise!
